yeswecan!cer gGmbH is a public welfare oriented community that supports people suffering from cancer. We wish to promote self-help among those affected – by ways of communication and the exchange of information. The YES!APP in addition to publicity campaigns and other events will further promote the foundations purpose.
For a long time now, individual cancer patients, associations and projects have been campaigning for a different, authentic, open and positive form of communication and sharing their stories of illness in blogs, on Facebook, Instagram or their own YouTube channel. With their experiences and tips, they give those affected orientation and practical help in life and convey hope and confidence.
We will support these influencers with a centralized platform. We create awareness, focus attention and optimize media reach for a common cause. Our motto: You are not alone.
The headquarters of our Non-Profit GmbH are in Berlin and Munich.
Our dedicated team consists of eminent doctors of various faculties and experienced media people. yeswecan!cer is supported by volunteers, committed musicians, well-known film and television producers, athletes and influencers.

THE FOUNDER
In October 2016, media entrepreneur Jörg A. Hoppe was diagnosed with cancer. A stem cell transplant in February 2017 was successful. Half a year later, Hoppe founded yeswecan!cer.
Until his illness, Hoppe worked successfully as a music manager, TV and cinema producer. He is a Platinum record holder, and is a Grimme, TV, Berlinale and Echo award winner.
“I decided from the start to be open about my illness and not make a secret of it . I took pictures, sent selfies, and answered honestly and openly to all inquiries as to how I was doing. I wanted to lift the taboo of cancer and in the process I was rewarded with incredibly positive feedback. The compassion of my family, good friends, acquaintances and colleagues have given me the necessary strength to endure this illness. Their active support got me through the darkest hours by restoring faith in myself and the hope of healing. Their encouragement and love has saved my life and is our motto.”

Dr. Anke Diehl
Dr. Anke Diehl has been responsible for implementing the "Smart Hospital" digitization strategy since 2018. The focus of her work was clinically in neurology, neuroradiology and radiology as well as in clinical study management and health services research. She is an expert in digital medicine and is currently working on gender issues in AI and digitization, among other topics. In November 2021, Dr. Anke Diehl received the "Medical Woman of the Year Award 2021". „Medical Woman of the Year Award 2021 – Medizinerin des Jahres 2021“.

Prof. Winfried Hardinghaus
Prof. Winfried Hardinghaus is a palliative physician and hospice pioneer. As early as 1994, he founded the award-winning palliative and hospice project SPES VIVA in Osnabrück. He is head of the Clinic for Palliative Medicine at Franziskus Hospital in Berlin and chairman of the DHPV and the German Hospice and Palliative Foundation (DHP Foundation).

Prof. Dr. Kiechle’s research focuses on the field of gynaecological oncology with a special emphasis on hereditary cancers in women and on the establishment of individualised cancer targets. Dr. Markus Müschenich
In addition to his work as a paediatrician, he was a board member of non-profit and private hospital groups for over 10 years, is a founding member and board member of the Federal Association of Internet Medicine and is considered a specialist for the future of medicine. In 2012 he founded Flying Health, the leading ecosystem for Next Generation Healthcare. With his company, he introduced the world’s first app on prescription for holistic digital therapy in 2014.

Her research projects focus on the integration of creativity into treatment strategies and a holistic, humane approach to medicine. She wrote her dissertation on quality of life aspects after carcinoma disease. Her master’s thesis was entitled: The dream dialogue: An opportunity to change the doctor-patient relationship?

Prof. Dr. Jochen Werner
Previously Medical Director of the Marburg University Hospital and in the management of the University Hospital of Gießen/Marburg (UKGM). Dr. Werner describes himself as a medical influencer and is active on social media. A visionary who wants to transform the Essen University Medical Centre/University Hospital (almost 8,500 employees) into a Smart Hospital.

TILL BEHNKE
During his studies, he joined an aid organisation that built houses in South African townships. In 2007 he founded betterplace.org, which today is Germany’s largest online donation platform, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board and Supervisory Board. He is a founding partner and managing director of nebenan.de, (mesvoisins.fr, tienes-sal.es, vicinimiei.it), the largest neighbourhood community in Europe.
FLORAH IKAWA
Organizer of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC), concept developer and implementer of the African Good Governance Network, activist against HIV stigma in Nairobi, Kenya, and part-time lecturer in Good Governance at the Technical University of Berlin. Until 2019 project development, fundraising, partnership management at Transparency International.
Prof. Dr. David Matusiewicz
Dr. David Matusiewicz is Professor of Medical Management at the FOM University of Applied Sciences. At Germany’s largest private university, he has been responsible for the area of Health & Social Affairs as Dean since 2015, and is also the Director of the Research Institute for Health & Social Affairs (ifgs). Prof. Dr Matusiewicz supports technology-driven start-ups in the healthcare sector as a founder and is active on various supervisory boards and as an investor in companies. His focus is always on supporting the digital transformation of healthcare.
